We Versus The Shark - Ruin Everything!

Melodic arithmetic punk, spastic disco-punk, and art-damaged pop are all phrases that have been used to describe We Versus The Shark's debut full length Ruin Everything. This album thumps along from track to track with loud, weird guitar riffs, and rediculously odd disco beats...not to mention increadibly interesting play between the bass and drum kit. Honestly, I can't really think of any other ways to describe this album. Just give it a fair listen.

1. You Don't Have To Kick It
2. As Good As It Gets
3. Ten Uh Clock Heart Uh Tack
4. This Graceless Planet
5. I Am Destined For Greatness
6. Slide

The Flaming Lips - In A Priest Driven Ambulance

Hello there, my name is Ethan and I'm going to be contributing to this blog every now and again. I figured that i might as well start off by posting one of my favorite albums of the early 90's and a psychadelic rock classic, if you're into that kinda thing. With this album, The Flaming Lips constructed some of the oddest, and most beautiful textures I've ever heard simply using guitar, bass, drums, and vocals...not to mention overwhelming use of a fuzz face. The best way I can describe this album is that its like walking a metaphorical gauntlet, where at every turn something new pops out and frightens the hell out of you. It's definitely an album where, in order to "get it", you have to listen to it start to finish at mind shattering volumes.

1. Shine On Sweet Jesus (Jesus Song No.5)
2. Unconsciously Screaming
3. Rainin' Babies
4. Take Meta Mars
5. Five Stop Mother Superior Rain
6. Stand In Line
7. God Walks Amoung Us Now (Jesus Song No. 6)
8. There You Are (Jesus Song No. 7)
9. Mountain Side
10. What A Wonderful World

Lamb of God - Wrath

The new album from Lamb of God leaked a couple weeks ago. And I must admit, I was not particularly enthused for this release. I used to listen to them a lot over the summer and last year, but not so much anymore. So when I downloaded the link, it was just because I was curious.

But after a couple of listens, this album is 10x better than Sacrament. It's probably as good as Ashes of the Wake too. Songs like "In Your Words," "Fake Messiah," "Broken Hands," "Dead Seeds," and the amazing closer, "Reclamation" are just classic Lamb of God tunes that you'll be enjoying for a long time. This album is probably their heaviest, if that makes sense.

Overall, it's just a lot of fun. The two singles they released are the two worst songs on the record, so don't judge the album by "Contractor" and "Set to Fail." They're okay songs, but the rest are phenomenal. Sorry I'm posting this album before it's released, but I'll definitely buy the record so whatever.

01. The Passing
02. In Your Words
03. Set To Fail
04. Contractor
05. Fake Messiah
06. Grace
07. Broken Hands
08. Dead Seeds
09. Everything To Nothing
10. Choke Sermon
11. Reclamation
