Customer Feedback

"Your blogs are so good. I downloaded Panda Bear and I'm lovin' it! Thank you for having such awesome taste in music, Robbie"
-for real message from a friend on the FaceSpace

Yo dog. Thanks for checking my blog. I hope those of you who use it, still enjoy it; my apologies for not updating this frequently. I don't know why I've been so lazy recently. I have had a lot of stuff to do with college and work and school and art and writing and lame stuff like that so I will try to post more often now. But I would really like to have more feedback as to what you guys like that I post and what you guys hate that I post. I try to post a variation of stuff. That's why I post stuff like Lamb of God and then stuff like Animal Collective. I look for the good stuff in all genres of music and I hope I can help at least one person that reads this accept every genre ever. Except for that jank on the radio. Ignore that music.

I guess what I'm getting at is I want you to tell me what you think. Am I an awful music blogger? Am I the best music blogger? These are things that run through my head constantly. Also let me know what you're listening to! I'm always looking for new stuff to check out and post. And if you're in a band and you want me to post your music, let me know! Message me on Facebook or on this blogger thing or shoot me an email at raludvigsen@gmail.com.

Listen to good music.

Jaga Jazzist - What We Must

I think the most impressive musical talent is the talent of composition. The ability to understand how music can be arranged and executed complexly is a trait I long for. It's something I've been striving for in the 5 or so years I've been attempting to create music/art. I feel like these jazz cats from Norway have some impressive composing skills. This album is called What We Must and I picked it up the other day after having downloaded it like a year ago. This album blew me away when I was laying in bed sick this week. It was calming and laid back, but it has a confidence that it exudes that just flipped my shit. Made up of more than half a dozen instrumentalists and multi-instrumentalists, Jaga Jazzist combines the ideas of jazz with the modern appeal of post-rock. Those two words...post....rock. So god damn annoying, but don't be scared. This isn't some kind of overdone album with slow chromatic build-ups and "emotional" releases. This is an interesting and electic album that some have begun to call "nu-jazz." I have no idea what that really means, but it interests the hell out of me. This album is legit.

Also sorry for not updating this bitch that much. I've been getting into college and whatever.
