This whole chillwave thing is so murky and boundary- less that sometimes I feel like it's not even a real genre. I used to think there was a pretty distinct sound but now I'm not so sure. I guess Kisses is chillwave, but the vocals and some of the instrumentation is so smooth and sexy it doesn't sound like anything you'd hear on a Toro Y Moi record.
The vocals really make this record for me, they fit so well and compliment the music with catchy hooks and interesting melodies. It'll be interesting to see how this album is received by critics.
